Issue Position

I was one of only 23 Senators who voted against the Iraq war, and now I have a plan to promote peace throughout the region.

The Iraq war will end up costing 6 trillion taxpayer dollars and over 4400 American lives. It damaged US credibility throughout the world, and has unleashed brutal forces such as ISIS and Boko Haram throughout the Middle East and North Africa. I propose Prosperity through Peace. I want to restore American prestige by working with our partners in the United Nations to pursue strategic international agreements that reduce tensions, increase security, attack climate change, and promote civil liberties and fair trade. I will end drone strikes, torture of prisoners, and warrantless wiretaps. These measures antagonize our friends and empower our enemies. I will advocate to transfer savings from military operations for needs at home in America.
